▀▄▀▄ LAST 'SAFE' PLACE TO SEE ▄▀▄▀
⚠ Dreams ⚠
Gold had fallen asleep in class to the feeling of a classmate playing with their hair. It was calming and comforting.
They woke up to everyone gone and the door open. To be honest, this place wasn't really a classroom. More of a warehouse with desks and a projector for class things.
Gold quickly grabs their things and runs outside to see where everyone went. Everyone is huddled around the main gate and surrounding walls. You can't see through the gate due to a metal mesh, so people have climbed to peer over or sit atop it. Gold does the same.
In the parking lot is a viscous liquid slowly moving towards the main gate. The liquid alternates between a translucent honey color to a glitchy mess that is hard to look at. There are many eyes swirling about in it. It looks at us.
There are also dead bodies in the liquid as well as panicked people in cars trying to escape it. It doesn't work. Gold and a few others start climbing to the roof of one of the nearby buildings and watch from there. Some people are drawn towards the liquid and willingly give themselves up to it.
Gold can see the ghosts of those who died. They're playing and splashing around by their own corpses, seemingly unbotherd by their deaths. No one else can see them. Gold holds onto a classmate who almost jumps down into the bushes. "That's not a good idea."
They watch as a different student hops the gate and walks up to the liquid. "Take me to quiet waters..." they say before walking into the liquid and immediately dying. Their ghost joins the others.
Gold sees this and decides to go down there. The liquid starts to move towards them but... "WAIT! wait! I... have a request..." Gold shouts. The liquid stops, it's many eyes looking at them. "Can... you make sure my death is painless?" They ask, fidgeting with their hands.
"Where do you want to go?" the liquid asks in a voice that's everywhere. The question itself laced with great importance. Gold begins to cry. I can feel the tears... "I don't know! I don't know... just... Take me to the land of my dreams..." Gold says, trying to wipe away tears.
"Very well then." The liquid stays in place as Gold walks into it. They immediately feel weak and fall over. The death is painless. The liquid is warm yet doesn't cling to one's clothing or person. They are taken to the land of their dreams.
